"I recently sent Marissa a gelding that I had just purchased. Before Marissa came into our lives we were struggling to get through the daily routine at home. The gelding was handled minimally- at best. He knew basically nothing- at most. And, he was a little overweight- to say the least. In a short period of time she produced a calm, confident and fit animal- who is happy and healthy. She did this from the ground up, really focusing on the basics and approaching the situation holistically. She did it professionally, without any harsh tactics. And, the results have been nothing short of impressive. This gelding has come so far in terms of progression in his training; but, also in terms of his general demeanor. Marissa provides daily updates on his progress when I cannot be at the barn- and when I am, she is sure to involve me in whatever she is doing. Now we are looking forward to fun and exciting 2008 Show Season- we never would have made it to this point without Marissa's help!"

"Being an older woman with a young horse, I was looking for someone who could give me the confidence and had the patience to explain to me the techniques to ride safely and have fun. In Marissa I found a person who has a kind heart and a soft hand with horses and also has the patience to teach you till you get it right. For a young girl, she has a tremendous amount of knowledge of teaching and training and can pretty much make my horse do anything. Since the few months I've been with Marissa, I have gained tremendous confidence and accomplished an awful lot and am having a wonderful time with my beautiful horse!!!!!"

"I came to Marissa wanting to achieve a show worthy ride out of my gelding without the intimidating training methods he was used to with my prior trainer. She has shown me how to make my horse use himself without all of the complicated training aids and harsh bits. She did lots of lateral work in a snaffle bit and gave him a stronger foundation. He is now soft and supple without any intimidating look to him and no longer goes around the pen with a negative attitude. I find myself being able to relax leaving my horse in Marissa's care-she doesn't cut training corners and wants the horses to be a prepared athlete so that when asked of a task they do it easily and willingly."
